Types of Treatment Modalities Used
My therapeutic approach involves a combination of treatments including Motivational interviewing, Mindfulness based cognitive behavioural therapy, and mindfulness and narrative therapy; all of which are practiced in conjunction with a person- centred approach. I place importance on the counselling relationship in order to foster safety, confidence and trust. I adopt a congruent, non-judgemental, safe space to allow individuals to freely express their concerns in order to enable them to develop strategies and goals towards desired change. I work collaboratively with individuals to assist them to become more self-aware, to better manage difficult situations and to establish goals geared towards changes that they desire to make in their lives. As all individuals are unique, all treatment is tailored to individual needs whereby different approaches are used accordingly and or interchangeably.
